Meetings watch: Curry County Commission

The Curry County Commission will meet 9 a.m. today at the north annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library.

Agenda items include:

• Appointment of a county representative to the Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority. Former Commissioner Wendell Bostwick’s term is expiring. There is no statutory requirement the appointed representative be an elected official.

• A pair of items on the Broadview Fire Station upgrade — one to accept a $20,000 contribution from Pattern Energy and another to change the contract to eliminate the storage room and mezzanine and instead, increase the concrete floor and apron thickness from 4 inches to 6 inches. The contract price will not change.

• An update on the county’s investments and overall financial outlook.

• An $8,513 contract for a procedures audit of the county events center and fairgrounds by Beasley, Mitchell and Co.

• A contract renewal for $11,483.92 on maintenance and support services for the Curry County Adult Detention Center’s automated door control system.

• A grant agreement with the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department for a juvenile justice advisory committee. The county would receive $64,717 and provide a match of $25,887 — largely in office rent, volunteer hours and a portion of the administrative service coordinator salary.

• An executive session at the conclusion of the meeting for attorney-client discussion of current and pending litigation and limited personnel matters.
