Pajama suits back in vogue

The general fashion trends continue to become more and more casual. Robe coats were the main feature in the gaining popularity of the pajama dressing trend for spring 2016.

Now, the slinky look that's taking notice lately is the pajama-inspired suit. This suit goes back decades ago. According to Vogue magazine, it was a favorite piece of the iconic Greta Garbo (Swedish-born American film actress during the 1920s and 1930s) and more recently supermodel Kate Moss.

We first noticed this look thrust back into the forefront by some of our favorite trendsetters beginning in 2015.

Fast forward to spring 2017. The look has been sampled more and more abundantly. This all-season pajama suit can be worn many different ways and works great for those weekend getaways. It can be a nice cover up to walk along the beach by leaving the top unbuttoned over a 2-piece bathing suit for a look that's cool and casual. The pajama suit is a lightweight silk two-piece that's intended to be worn in the evening.

You'll see them made in rich silks, soft velvets, and hints of cozy fur for something a bit more fancy. They’re not your flannel or lace pajamas either. So, no, you can’t just throw on a pair of real pajamas and not get awkward stares.

If you love this trend but you’re skeptical of the matching pajama suit, then you can always grab a pajama-inspired silk top to pair with your favorite jeans.

Pajama dressing doesn't stop at the pajama suit. You can start with one piece. Pajama sets, robe coats and slip dresses have all made their way from the runway to the streets.

There's also the slipper trend that's very popular. Either way, these trends are insanely comfortable and effortless looks for 2017.
