Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
CLOVIS — Fire was briefly on the menu for a Clovis restaurant Wednesday evening.
Cotton Patch on Prince Street had a small fire in its parking lot, but it was quickly extinguished and restaurant management reported no structural damage or injuries.
Employees were welding a sign above the restaurant, and sparks caught the shrubbery below.
Clovis Fire Department Lt. John Bradley said the call came in just before 6 p.m., and the exterior fire was extinguished about a minute after the CFD crew arrived.
