Empty stocking fund - Dec. 15

Today's family in need: This family with three children, two girls and one boy, is going through a difficult financial situation.

"My husband is a very hard worker and doing everything he can to provide for us," the wife said. "My husband just took a new job that will help us tremendously once he's out of training, but I'm afraid until then we are struggling more than ever to get bills paid and keep up with the things our family needs."

The family has assistance through income support for food and medical coverage, but they are very behind on bills. The family has exhausted all loan options which has resulted in them losing their car and the possibility of losing their home.

The family is looking for any possible way to provide some kind of Christmas for their children.

About the Empty Stocking Fund: The fund is a joint venture of the Salvation Army and The Eastern New Mexico News. The fund helps low-income families with toys, food and clothing.
