Fashion a daily thought

Sometimes I wonder if it’s normal to have fashion on the brain nearly what seems to be all the time. Or at least frequently contemplating what to wear and how to wear it. This is at least a thought that crosses my mind, and so many other women, on a daily basis.

Even on the days of low maintenance, I still find myself taking that analytical glare in the mirror that prompts me to change clothes quickly. Or when I’m in a hurry getting ready, I somehow squeeze in the time to try on a couple of pairs of shoes before I walk out the door.

I can remember back in my school age years, I would be in class thinking about what I would wear the next day. There were times I would have my outfits planned out in my mind for the next couple of days.

There were many conversations on the phone with my best friend where we would plan out what we were going to wear to school. We wanted to make sure we were on the same page. We didn’t want the other to feel over or under dressed. If I was wearing a skirt, she would likewise. If she was wearing sneakers, I was wearing sneakers. Maybe.

Now I don’t know if it was and still is just the girly thing to do or just a personality trait. Maybe everyone secretly does it.

When asking my best friend what her thoughts were on this, she says, "It is definitely the common courtesy amongst women to ask ‘what are you wearing?’ and then you coordinate or inspire one another.”

I suppose it is just an unspoken guilty pleasure of the subconscious. This is why when a woman gets a compliment on her dress, she says, “oh, this old thing” when really there was a lot of thought process that went into that outfit.

If you're a visual person then fashion is most likely always on your mind. So with that said, what are you going to wear?
