Road Construction — Oct. 6

Clovis

North/South traffic on Martin Luther King will be closed from the main entrance at Plains Regional Medical Center to approximately 300 feet south of the intersection with 21st Street. Primary access to the hospital during all construction phases of the project will be on 21st Street.

For questions regarding this matter, please contact Justin Howalt, City Engineer, at 575-769-2376 or via email at [email protected].

Curry County

The Curry County Road Department has scheduled chip seal for Curry Road D from Curry Road 11.5 to Curry Road 14. The road won’t be closed but officials are asking motorists for minimal use during the hours listed:

Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. - first layer of chip seal.

Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. - second layer of chip seal.

Residents are encouraged to schedule activities to minimize use of these roads for 3-4 hours after the oil is applied. Driving on fresh oil not only damages the road, but makes a mess of your vehicle.

Questions or concerns may be addressed to the Steve Reed at (575) 762-1501.

Traffic can now access Avenue A, Main Street and Abilene off of Second Street while reconstruction of U.S. 70 continues.

Access to the courthouse square and businesses on Avenue A and Main Street will be available off of First Street. Expect some congestion in this area.
