Civilian detained at Cannon

A civilian was caught jumping over the fence Friday at Cannon Air Force Base, according to base spokesman Capt. Derek White.

At approximately 3:17 a.m., an Airman spotted a man jumping the perimeter fence, according to White. Security forces were alerted, and detained him. The man was handcuffed and a search found a minor amount of methamphetamine and marijuana, according to White.

The fence-jumper declined legal counsel and was released later Friday morning, according to White.
