For the second consecutive time, the Eastern New Mexico University women’s soccer team pushed a nationally-ranked opponent to the limit.

This time, though, No. 19 St. Edward’s got a goal from Ally Linquist with about two minutes left in the second and final 10-minute, sudden-death OT, giving the Hilltoppers a 1-0 victory on Sunday at the ENMU pitch.

ENMU (2-3-1) battled sixth-ranked Colorado School of Mines to a 0-0 standoff on Sept. 15.

The Hilltoppers (3-0-2) outshot the Zias 16-3 overall and 10-2 on goal, but junior goalkeeper Fabienne Wilson made nine saves to keep ENMU in it. The winning goal came off a corner kick by Amanda Tabone.

ENMU returns to action on Friday in a 4 p.m. start against Texas A&M-Commerce at home in the Lone Star Confernce opener for both teams.
