Press release: Pioneer Days Parade set for Saturday

The annual Pioneer Days Parade is just around the corner, promising another colorful celebration on Main Street on Saturday, June 9th starting at 10:00 a.m.

This year, the theme for the parade is "TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK". Participants are encouraged to decorate their floats in pink and wear pink in order to raise the awareness of breast cancer.

Parade entry forms are available at the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, 105 E. Grand Ave. The deadline to enter the parade is June 7th at 5 p.m.

Serving again as this year's chairman, Mr. John Montano has served as the Pioneer Days Parade chairman for over 25 years.

The 2012 Parade Marshall will be Darla Rhodes.

Awards will be given to first, second and third place winners in each category. In addition, a sweepstakes trophy will be awarded to the overall best entry. The parade awards will be presented at the Chuck Wagon Cook-off after the parade at the Curry County Fairgrounds.
