Zias add midfielder

The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team has added Jacquelyn Perez, a center-midfielder from El Paso, to its squad for the 2012 season.

Perez was twice awarded all-district honors at El Paso's Coronado High School. She represented the state of Chihuahua in the U-17 Mexican nationals.

"Jackie is a natural playmaker," ENMU women's coach Todd Padgett said. "Her ability to strike the ball from distance, (her) willingness to take people on and excellent decision-making in the final third will provide us with a different dymanic moving forward."

The Zias finished a program-best third in the Lone Star Conference last year at 6-5-3 and went 8-8-3 overall, losing to West Texas A&M 1-0 in the first round of the LSC tournament.
