Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Web page, other changes coming Monday

CMI staff

To our readers:

Beginning Monday, you will see a new design for our four newspaper web pages belonging to the Clovis News Journal, Portales News-Tribune, Quay County Sun and Cannon Connections.

As well on Monday, we will move the content for those pages and our email to a server in a new location.

These changes are among many being made due to the Feb. 16 sale of the papers from Freedom Communications Inc. to Clovis Media Inc., a Wyoming corporation.

A new circulation system has been installed as well and is in a testing phase. It will be launched no later than March 31.

We already have set up a different financial reporting system and have pulled advertising and circulation billing back in-house. Those payments from Clovis, Portales and Quay customers should be sent to the Clovis News Journal, P.O. Box 1689, Clovis, NM 88102, and no longer to the previous out-of-state billing addresses.

Email and web pages are being switched from Freedom's computer server service overseas to a firm contracted in Sioux Falls, S.D., by a CMI sister paper in Yankton, S.D.

The present web page design has been in place since 2007. The new look features many of the same links displayed now, but with story and photo displays displayed in new formats. If any content links on the new pages are not working, or you don't receive an expected response to an email you sent, please let us know right away by calling your local newspaper and telling the staff about your problem. They will forward it to the correct department to handle. Or you can send an email to: [email protected]
