My turn: Girls just want to have fun

I’ve taken to having a lot of girls’ nights lately with Christina Calloway and Jessica Yi. We go out or stay in as our little trio group, watching movies or just acting plain silly.

The three of us were laughing recently as we had a conversation about what an interesting and entertaining contrast we must be to those around us with Christina being the glamour girl, me being the girl in the plaid shirt and jeans and Jessica being somewhere in-between.

But despite these differences, we all get along extremely well, sharing a love for wine and bad movies. This weekend, we get to enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day shindig then a pampered day of pedicures. Yay for being a woman.

More St. Patrick’s Day events this weekend include a performance by the band Slave Six 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Do Drop In.

More to do this weekend includes the Dora basketball tournament if anyone wants to see some cute but determined children run around.

Also don’t forget the next Yam Music Series Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday for only $5. Franklin Smith will be performing. And that morning is a pancake breakfast for $3 at the Portales Senior Citizens Center.
