Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
I received free entertainment Wednesday morning in the form of my sister and her camera. We shared in a farewell breakfast with our parents at IHOP in Clovis just before they left the state to head for their new home.
My sister was a camera fanatic the entire morning, insisting on taking a picture of us together at the table in the restaurant then later a picture of all of us together in front of the moving truck. My mother and I continually laughed at her as she ran around “capturing” every moment.
Speaking of entertainment, a lot of Christmas events and more are taking place in the next two weeks.
Christmas on the Square in Elida will take place Saturday from 5 p.m. to whenever the crowd dies down and Eastern New Mexico University is hosting a Big Band Dance at the State Theater in Clovis Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Also happening Saturday is the lighting of the mayor’s blessing tree at 6:30 p.m. at the Yam Theatre. I’ve had people tell me it is a very Portales annual tradition and it’s only 30 minutes long, so check it out.
