Last time out: ENMU lost to Western State (Colo.) 68-52 on Saturday at Pueblo, Colo. Also on Saturday, the Lobos fell short in an upset bid at home against No. 13 Oklahoma, losing 58-56.

Of note: Yvonne Sanchez replaced longtime Lobos coach Don Flanagan this season after spending the last 11 years on his staff. … The Zias have played New Mexico six times in the regular season, although none since December 1986. They are 2-4 in those games, winning in February 1975 (58-41) and January 1976 (47-43). The teams played preseason exhibitions at The Pit in 2007 and 2009, both won handily by the Lobos. … Except for a brief one-point deficit early, UNM led the entire way against Oklahoma until the final five minutes. … Caroline Durbin, a 6-foot junior G, scored 16 points against OU and is the Lobos’ lone double-figure scorer for the season (14.7 ppg). Meantime, 6-foot junior G Jourdan Erskine and 6-1 senior G Porshe Torrance grabbed 13 and 12 rebounds, respectively, against the Sooners. … The Lobos’ other losses were on the road to Texas Tech (69-43) and North Texas (63-50). They beat New Mexico Highlands 65-45 in a preseason exhibition. … The Zias have two players averaging in double figures, senior F Precious Herrin (20.0) and senior G Tori Northcutt (11.0). Herrin is shooting 64 percent from the floor and averaging 6 1/2 rebounds, while Northcutt has gone 6-for-12 from 3-point range and is within 21 assists of Stephanie Brockman’s school career record (461). … While Herrin is the Zias’ tallest player at 5-10, nine of the 12 Lobos stand six feet or taller, and a 10th is 5-11. … First-year ENMU coach Lindsey Wilson spent the last five seasons as an assistant at Texas-Arlington while Lobos assistant Erin Grant, a former star point guard at Texas Tech, was also on the UTA staff the past four years.
