Former bank building sold

The building that formerly housed First Community Bank is in new hands.

The building was purchased recently by Jim Sitterly, who has owned Curry County Title and Abstract for 31 years.

“We’re still trying to decide (a purpose),” Sitterly said, “but I believe we’re going to make a professional business center. It’s going to be for professional clients; it’s not going to be where somebody wants to rent it for a month.”

The 24,000-square-foot building on Pile Street offers room for several clients, and the bank vault is ideal for document storage, Sittlerly said.

The property has been eyed before for a relocation of offices for the city and county due to its proximity to downtown Clovis. Sitterly said that wasn’t his intent, but he’d be open to discussing it with any entity.

First Community Bank was acquired by US Bank Jan. 28. The Pile Street location has been out of use since July 15, when its functions and staff were absorbed by the bank’s other location on Prince Street.
