Police blotter — Oct. 30

Samplings of recent calls made to Portales law enforcement, according to police reports:

Wednesday

• At 8:16 a.m., an officer was dispatched to West Ninth Street in reference to criminal damage. A man told the officer he had allowed a friend to stay with him for a few days until he could find a permanent place to stay. He said his friend had come home intoxicated the previous night and the two men had an argument. The man decided to leave the residence so the argument would not continue.

The man said when he returned home, he packed the other man’s belongings and placed them on the front porch. He said later when the other man returned, he damaged the rear window and rear door trying to gain access into the house. He said he did notify his landlord.

Officers could not locate the other man but damage was estimated at $300. The case is active pending investigation.

• At 1:45 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Hummingbird Lane in reference to an auto burglary. A woman told the officer her purse was missing from her moped. She described the purse as being cream colored and holding various items, such as prescribed pills, a wallet with $2 to $3, a Social Security card and make-up. She said she left her purse in the moped seat overnight. She said when she woke the next morning, the purse was gone.

There are no suspects at this time and the case is inactive.
