Hartle

Rick Hartle, a 1974 Clovis High honors graduate, has been awarded one off our Annual Community Wingman Awards from Team Hill at Hill Air Force Base, Layton, Utah.

The award recognizes contributions of individuals from surrounding communities who go above and beyond in their efforts to support the men and women of Hill AFB.

Winners were honored in a private reception held at Club Hill on Sept. 29 with Maj. Gen. Andrew Busch and other senior leaders. They will also be honored with their picture that will hang in the Hill Aerospace Museum.

“It’s imperative we recognize that our community leaders selflessly put their time and effort into improving the quality of life of the Hill Airmen,” said Busch, commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center in Ogden, Utah.

Hartle is director of Business Development Strategic Systems Integrated Defense Systems of the Boeing Company in Layton. He is a lifetime member of the Air Force Association and served at the chapter, state and national levels. Hartle has held leadership roles in Utah Aerospace Education Foundation and the Aerospace Heritage Foundation. He led community efforts to help establish the Junior Enlisted Center at Hill AFB. Under his leadership and direction the Salute to Our Nation’s Defenders Picnic is now a landmark event.

Hartle is the son of Herb and Lucy Hartle of Clovis and is married to Amy Gardiner of Albuquerque. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and has been employed with the Boeing Company since June 1980.
