Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Three communities rejoin EPCOG

Three communities that once declined to be members of the Eastern Plains Council of Governments have opted to rejoin the regional planning agency.

Newly-appointed EPCOG Executive Director Sandy Chancey said members of the agency’s executive committee, who met Wednesday, learned the villages of Logan, Mosquero and San Jon are members once again. Chancey said she expects several other communities to rejoin the agency in the future.

Chancey said the committee was also updated on a recent strategic planning retreat held by EPCOG staff at the Clovis Curry County Chamber of Commerce. Staff developed a mission statement and proposed several goals that will be refined and presented for the EPCOG board’s approval at a later date, Chancey said.

EPCOG is a regional planning and development agency representing seven northeastern New Mexico counties, including Curry, De Baca, Guadalupe, Harding, Quay, Roosevelt and Union.
