Police blotter — Aug. 7

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 5 p.m. July 22 an officer responded to the area of Seventh and Upsilom streets for a report of robbery.

The officer made contact with a man pushing an ice cream cart and noted he appeared afraid and anxious, but the man couldn’t speak English.

A male juvenile approached and translated for the officer, telling the officer the man had been robbed by two juvenile males.

He said one of them put a gun to his head and took $70 from him, then took some ice cream from his cart and ran away.

The officer could not locate the suspects.

About 9 a.m. July 24 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Ross Street for a report of trespass.

A woman said a strange man she had never seen before walked into her house with a bag of eggs, and said he was there because his sister said she was going to make him some eggs.

The woman said she asked the man who his sister was, and he responded that it was Britney Spears.

She told him to get out and pushed him out the door, then called police.

The man was still there when police arrived. He told the officer a blond woman at the house had offered to make him some eggs, but when he went to the house, she wasn’t there.

The officer noted that the man seemed confused.

He told the woman he would seek a warrant for trespassing and advised her to call the police again if the man returned to her property.

Around 9 a.m. July 25 an officer responded to a business in the 800 block of Prince Street for a report of criminal damage.

The owner said someone had broken into the phone equipment box behind his business and ripped the wires out.

He said the suspects had also flipped the breakers to his air conditioner and he speculated the suspects were trying to disable his alarm system.

The officer documented the damage.

About 11 p.m. July 26 an officer responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Weeden Street for a report of a burglary in progress.

The resident said she was awoken by the sound of her front door opening.

When she went outside, she said she saw a dark figure running away.

She said she checked her vehicles and found they had been gone through and about $20 in change was missing.

A suspect could not be located.
