Greathouse

The Greathouse reunion held for the 55th time in the Ingram Room at the Clovis-Carver Library on July 10, 2011. There were two clans represented with 32 people attending.

During visitation scrapbooks were viewed and family histories were exchanged followed by a potluck dinner with the invocation being given by Floretta Wood.

The business meeting was called to order by President Regina Harris. A moment of silence was held for Jack Greathouse, Frank Greathouse Jr., T.M. Caldwell, Thelma Curtis, Vicki Greathouse, Phil Russell and Jimmie Pitcock, who have passed away since the last reunion.

Sheryl Abdill read the minutes and treasurer’s report. Officers for next year will be: President Regina Harris, Vice President Amanda Kaberlein, and Secretary-treasurer-reporter Sheryl Abdill .

It was decided the reunion next year would be moved to Saturday, the second weekend in July.

Door prizes were given out.

Dan Greathouse and Mike Shaughnessy entertained the group with music accompanied by the children of their instruments.

Those attending were: Don and Katherine McAlavy from St. Petersburg, Fla., Elizabeth Washburn from Chickasha, Okla., Woody and Floretta Wood from Farwell, Sheryl Abdill, Regina Harris, Kevin Robison and Joyce Jones with children Spencer, Taylor and Amber Jones, Mike and Cindy Shaughnessy, Jayson Rawls all from Clovis, Dan and Kathleen Greathouse with sons Jacob, Tayler, Bill and Debbie Strong, Kris Morgan and Hilary Dixon with Children Tayler, Cameron, Brianna, and Hannah, Amanda Kaberlein with sons Isaac and Heath, Rachel Erickson with children Elaina and Alexis all from Portales.
