Four apply for judgeship

Four local lawyers have applied for a 9th Judicial District judgeship vacant due to the death of Robert S. Orlik on May 28, the state Judicial Nominating Commission announced Friday.

Applicants are Donna Mowrer of Portales and Wesley Pool, Andrea Reeb and Brian Stover, all of Clovis.

Reeb is also chief deputy district attorney and Stover is a deputy district attorney.

The nominating commission meets 9 a.m. July 21 at the Curry County Courthouse to evaluate the candidates. The meeting is open to the public, and people who wish to make comment are requested to be present at the beginning of the meeting.
