Prairie points featured on program

Information on using prairie points, making Greek salads and recipes for party foods will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday.

Evelyn Terhune, owner of Ozark Crafts in Gilbert, Ark., will show how traditional prairie points, which are a long-time favorite of quilters, take on a new look with contrasting fabric and decorative stitching.

Aris Kefalogiannis is the CEO of Gaea Products in Athens, Greece, and he’s going to show the Greek style of making salads, which feature Gaea’s extra virgin olive oils and other 100 percent natural products. These salads all incorporate Kalamata olives, which are all-natural and organic, too.

Connie Moyers is an extension home economist with the New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service, and her annual program draws hundreds each year. She’s going to demonstrate three quick and easy recipes, which could be side dishes or party foods. Moyers lives in Clovis.

Information on a new type of jump rope and decorating cakes with fondant will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon Tuesday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Carlos Coffman is a fitness expert who has designed a different type of jump rope, and he will show how to use it to promote good health for intermediate or advanced workouts. His company is called IROPE, and he’s from Mitchellville, Md.

If cake decorating has seemed beyond your reach, Nancy Siler will show how to use fondant to decorate any cake with guaranteed success. Siler is with Wilton Industries Inc. in Woodridge, Ill.
