Welt cording featured on show

Information on making and using continuous bias strips for welt cording and using essential oils for perfumery will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Thursday.

Pam Damour of The Decorating Diva will show how to make continuous bias strips, turn them into perfect welt cords and then apply them to different projects. Damour is from Champlain, N.Y.

Kris Wrede is an aromatic alchemist and natural perfumer, and her business is Kismet Potions. She will explain what essential oils and base oils are and tell why they are ideal for various skin types. She’ll show how to use them for a beautiful glowing appearance. Wrede is from Albuquerque.

Information on making wreaths and decorations, and sewing broomstick skirts will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” at noon Tuesday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Rose Riley, owner of Katie’s Flowerland in Clovis, believes in refurbishing and recycling things when possible. She’ll show how to turn old wreaths and decorations into works of art by adding new materials to them.

Making broomstick skirts is easy, and sewing expert Nancy Lovett will show how as well as talk about which fabrics work best. Lovett is a sewing instructor with Ann Silva’s Bernina Sewing Center in Albuquerque.
