Police blotter — April 24

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 3 p.m. April 9 officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Walnut Street in reference to a trespass in progress.

The officer noted the house had not been kept up and appeared abandoned.

When officers stepped inside they made contact with a woman who said the woman who lived in the house had died in 2010 and had no family to take over the property so she came to take the fence. She said when she arrived, the door was open so she went inside to see if there was anything else she could take.

Officers also found a man inside the home who said he was there to help take things from the house.

The pair was arrested for burglary.

About 1:30 p.m. April 11 an officer received a report of an student misbehaving in class at a school in the 400 block of Lockwood.

In an email, school staff said the student had been disruptive for several months. They said he curses in class, calls other students names and tries to get out of class.

The teacher said when she calls the student's mother, she comes and takes him out of school.

The officer noted the report would be forwarded to juvenile authorities.

Around 1:30 a.m. April 12 officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Prince Street for a report of a burglary in progress.

A man told officers he had invited a woman who rents an apartment from him to eat with him and she became angry and started throwing the food so he told her to leave.

He said she refused to leave, so he forced her out.

The woman told officers she had been in an intimate relationship with the man for more than 30 years and while they were eating they began arguing about old times.

She said he asked her to leave, then held her down and called police. She said he then started hitting her in the face.

Officers noted swelling to her face.

The man was arrested for battery on a household member.

About 2 p.m. April 15 an officer received a report of disorderly conduct at a school in the 1400 block of Cameo Street.

A teacher said a male student had disrupted her class while they were in the library working on a project.

She said he wrote on the dry erase board, jumped on tables and touched girls inappropriately. She said it was impossible to teach her other students with him in her class.

A school administrator told the officer the student had been warned numerous times about his behavior.

The officer noted he would pursue a warrant to arrest the student for disruption of the education process and disorderly conduct.
