Epsilon Sigma Alpha

Six members and one guest attended the regular meeting of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha at 4:30 p.m. on April 4 Collene Baldwin was the hostess. Bev Miller corresponding secretary read several thank you letters from Ninth Judicial District Family and Children’s Court for our donation. Members of Epsilion Sigma Alpha have supported St. Jude and have contributed more than $140 million in cash and pledges this makes ESA the third part donor to St. Jude. Your donation to St. Jude of $150 from your Coins Against Children Cancer event will help St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital fight childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases, it will also help make St. Jude a place where the sick and helpless can find hope and strength. Jeene Patrick gave the Educational program about Silver City.

Claud Rainy Day Extension Club

The Claud Rainy Day Extension Club met March 23 at 10 a.m. at Muffley’s Back Door with nine members present. Reba Camp and Lucille Johnson were hostesses. Ginger Beck presented a program on plants, planters and the use of plants in cooking.

President Ann Carter presided at the business meeting. She read a poem by R.H. Lightfoot entitled “Deserted Church.” Ginger reported on the club members who visited the host club Just Us in Melrose on March 7. They were presented with Wind Jammers made from soda cans for all the Claud members.

Ann and Joy Pattison contacted people to get recipes and the program for the International Tasting Event on April 19. The country represented will be the Netherlands.
