Equine summit set for Saturday

The first New Mexico Equine Industry Summit is set for Saturday at the Curry County Fairgrounds.

New Mexico State University horse specialist and summit organizer Jason Turner said dozens of people involved in the horse industry were scheduled to attend from across the state. Attendance is by invitation only.

Speakers come from horse, dairy and livestock organizations and the Southwest Border Food Safety and Defense Center. Topics include demographics of the horse industry, regulatory issues, a question-and-answer session and more.
