Student and employee briefs

• Jordan Kobritz, assistant professor of sport management and sport law, and co-author Steven Palmer, associate professor of business at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, had an article titled “Collegiate Coaches and FERPA” published in the Review of Higher Education and Self-Learning in February.

• The Office of Communication Services won the “Silver Award of Excellence” (second place) at the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District IV Conference Feb. 22 in New Orleans for its “Bond D for Education” campaign.

Working on the campaign, under the supervision of Ronnie Birdsong, were Janice Morrow, Wendel Sloan, Wanda Newberry, Minh Tran and Robin Haislett.

• Peter George is the new manager for the Eastern New Mexico University Bookstore. He succeeds Cole Johnson.

• Five ENMU band members have been selected to perform with the 2011 College Band Directors National Association Small College Intercollegiate Band. Megan Neighoff, Melissa Rice, Blayne Bass, Megan Brunson and Franklin Piland are set to travel to Seattle at the end of March.

Peace Corps here on March 8

A video retrospective of the U.S. Peace Corps’ 50 years of existence is scheduled to be presented 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Campus Union Building’s Sandia Room. Attendees can bring a lunch tray.
