Chaparral Extension Club

The Chaparral Extension Club met Jan. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church with seven members that welcomed new member Rachel Wallace.

Sheryl Abdill called the meeting to order and read “Somewhere There’s Someone” from the new yearbook.

Roll call was answered with what did you do for Christmas?

June Phillips read the minutes and thank you cards from the Eastern New Mexico Food Bank and Freeda Walker. Dorothy Bean gave the treasurer’s report.

A report was given on the council meeting. Goals for this year were discussed.

The group will make cookies to take to the fire departments this month and take a field trip to the food bank next month.

Hostess Dorothy served a delicious potluck meal with Sheryl giving the blessing. Canned goods were collected and turned into the food bank.
