God inhabits your praise

All of us have more blessings than problems. Everyone can look back upon life and see the hand of God guiding a path through difficult circumstances.

Being thankful for blessings evokes praise. The book of Psalms blesses me. One of my many favorites is the first verse of chapter 34: “I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

It is like a breath of fresh air to be around someone who praises the Lord. It keeps us joyful and shares our faith.

Praise brings encouragement: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10)

God is always willing to strengthen and help those who turn to him. That, dear friends, is something to praise him about.

Praise makes you happy. God inhabits the praises of his people (Psalm 22:3). God loves with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). All of these fill the human heart with overflowing joy.

I am not referring to spiritual name-dropping incessantly, but to a heart filled with praise and thanksgiving to a holy God.

Praise God for eternal salvation, for Jesus and for the comforter. If we are God’s children, we are the “apple of his eye” (Deuteronomy 32:10).

Among the many things to thank God for is his willingness to guide us. We cannot see tomorrow. We do not know what the future holds, but we know who holds the future. He gives us a “lamp unto our feet and a light for our path” (Psalm 119:105).

Praise God every day. It keeps your priorities straight.

I praise God that he is preparing heaven for us. He tells us in John 14:3: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.”

With these wonderful truths, how can we lose? Has America taken God’s many blessings for granted? Has complaining, criticizing and negativity taken over our country? Could it be the little foxes have spoiled the grapes?

The Israelites in the wilderness certainly did their share of griping, and it took 40 years to reach the promised land.

True praise comes through the heart, not just when we get into trouble, but from a loving trusting fellowship with our heavenly Father.

Let’s make our lives a life of praise. May our praises encourage the lives of others who are striving to overcome hurts and disappointments that we all experience.

Praise is beautiful. It gives joy to God because his greatest joy comes from our genuine worship and trust.

Jesus lives in his children. He had you and me in mind when he went to the cross. One day we will leave these bodies and live with him forever. His love cannot be measured.

He watches over you and me day and night. He knows all our faults and loves us anyway.

He holds us in his arms and tells us of his love. He is the strength of our lives, our breath and heartbeat. He rejoices over us with singing, grace and mercy (Zephaniah 3:17).

Each day we can rise to new heights.

What an awesome, beautiful Lord. He is our savior, redeemer, healer and counselor, and the almighty everlasting God.

How can we not praise Him?
