PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University junior placekicker Taylor Cannon has been chosen to the second-team Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region IV football squad.

Cannon, from Los Lunas, finished third in the Lone Star Conference in scoring with 84 points, making 45-of-46 extra points and 13-of-18 field goals. He was also third in the LSC in punting, averaging 40.6 yards on 34 kicks, including a 62-yarder in a season-ending win at Tarleton State.

ENMU finished 5-6 this season, including 3-3 in the Lone Star Conference North Division.

Five Greyhounds were selected to the third team, including senior wide receiver Jessie Poku of Murphy, Texas; senior guard T.J. Cleavinger of Garland, Texas; junior offensive tackle Adam Robinson of Lubbock; senior linebacker Nathan Uland of Denton, Texas, and senior safety Tillman Stevens of Baytown, Texas.

Poku set several ENMU records during the season, including career touchdown receptions. He finished second in the LSC in 2010 with 86 receptions, good for 932 yards and 11 touchdowns, all career highs, and will represent the school in the Cactus Bowl all-star game on Jan. 7 at Kingsville, Texas.

Cleavinger and Robinson had been mainstays on the offensive line during the transition from a triple-option offense to a spread attack. ENMU led the LSC North this season in scoring offense, passing offense and total offense.

Uland tied for 28th in NCAA Division II and finished third in the LSC in tackles, averaging 9.1 per game. Stevens led the LSC and finished seventh in Division II in tackles with 11.1 per game, and also was 11th nationally and tied for the lead in the LSC in interceptions with six.
