My turn: Cast deserves recognition

I would like to give a standing ovation to the students who performed in the “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” production Saturday night at Eastern New Mexico University.

The musical was one of the best productions I have seen at ENMU and the cast members captured the essence of Charles Schulz’ comic strip characters beautifully.

It was filled with excellent humor and sentimental feeling appropriate for all ages and I heard both adults and children laughing in the audience. I did not leave disappointed. A job well done to the six students that performed.

My two favorite production numbers were the Linus and Snoopy songs. Both were adorable and hysterical as I’m sure they were meant to be.

My only regret is that I was unable to attend the performance by the other cast Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, homework cheated me out of the experience. But I have no doubt that their performance was as wonderful and charming as that of Saturday’s cast.

Those of you interested in athletic events be sure to go check out the cage fights happening Saturday at the Curry County Events Center in Clovis. And don’t forget to check calendars in the newspaper for Halloween and fall happenings going on this weekend.
