CHS students to audition for all-state choir

Thirty-two students from Clovis High School and the Freshman Academy were selected by audition to perform with the 2011 New Mexico All-State Choir, according to a news release.

The all-state audition process includes singing a prepared solo by memory, memorize and perform a required choral piece and contestants must sight read and perform an 8-12 measure piece of music acappela.

CHS robotics team places fourth in contest

The Clovis High School Robotics Team won fourth place at the New Mexico BEST Robotics Competition in Las Cruces Oct. 23, according to a news release.

The win qualifies the team to compete in the BEST Regional Competition hosted by the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas on Nov. 18-21.

Clovis teacher honored

Blue Bell Creameries will honor Martina Rusk Friday as the regional competition finalist for the Teacher of the Year competition, according to a news release.

Rusk is a teacher at Los Ninos Early Intervention. Blue Bell Ice Cream will treat the school 1:15 p.m. Friday.
