Area quilters top show

Area quilters took honors at the Roswell Quilt Show, which was presented by Pecos Valley Quilters Sept. 24 and 25.

Linda Custer of Rogers won Best of Show, Mayor’s Choice and first place for her “Finally!!!” large appliqued and machine-quilted (one-person) quilt.

Lou Sikes of Portales won first place for “The Day it Snowed Tortillas” and Honorable Mention for “Jazzy Girls.”

Sheryl Abdill of Clovis won second place for “Fantasy of Color” small appliqued and machine-quilted (two-person) quilt, quilted by Elizabeth Lawrence of Portales. Abdill also won third place for “Out of Africa” small appliqued and machine-quilted (one-person) quilt.
