My Turn: Talk about an easy catch

I want to hear from anglers, hunters and the men (and women) of the great outdoors about your adventures in the wilds of New Mexico and west Texas.

Whether it’s about that trophy hanging on your wall, the one that got away or just your frustrating day fishing, hunting, camping or trapping. I want to hear from you.

For instance, Doug Bice, district manager of circulation for the Portales News-Tribune, told me about a fishing trip up in Colorado on the Arkansas River sometime ago.

After being there for a couple of hours that day with no luck on catching a fish, he got frustrated and tossed his fishing pole into the water.

The next day he went back to the spot where he tossed his pole into the water in order to retrieve it. As he was reeling in the line he noticed he had caught something.

“I reeled it in and on the hook was a trout,” Bice said.

Can you top that fish story?
