Police blotter —

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 10 a.m. April 29 an officer was dispatched to Clovis Community College for a report of a fight.

An instructor said she was teaching a GED preparation course when two male students began exchanging words over the class’s discussion and one called the other a slob.

She said she released the class to take a break and the two 17-year-olds began fighting and security was called.

The officer issued criminal trespass notices to both students and noted his intent to obtain warrants for both on charges of public affray.

Around 5 p.m. April 29 an officer responded to the area of Country Meadows Drive and Norris Street for a report of battery.

A 17-year-old boy being treated by ambulance personnel said he got scared and ran from his residence on Ben Hogan Drive after his adult brother punched him in the head and made him bleed.

The officer noted the boy had a laceration to the back of his head.

The boy’s 21-year-old brother arrived on scene and told the officer he hit his brother when he refused to give him his charger for his camera and his brother’s head hit the side of a wall.

The teen was transported to the hospital and the older brother was arrested for battery on a household member.

Around 11 p.m. May 1 an officer responded to a report of criminal damage in the 1200 block of West 21st Street.

A woman said she was driving in the 1600 block of Laura Lane and was driving slowly because there was a crowd on the road ahead at a block party.

She said she passed a male pedestrian and he got behind her vehicle and broke out her rear window.

The officer was unable to locate the suspect.

People at the party said they didn’t know him and he had been asked to leave the party because he was not invited.

About 1 a.m. May 2 officers responded to a bar in the 2000 block of Prince Street for a report of a large fight.

When officers arrived they stopped a pickup truck that was trying to leave with several individuals in the back.

One of the men attempted to flee but officers caught him and placed him in handcuffs.

An employee from the bar said the man threatened another patron and started a fight with the other man inside the bar. He said the fight had grown, eventually moving outside to the parking lot.

Inside the bar, the officer noted a broken table, broken drinking glasses and liquid spilled on the floor.

The 26-year-old was arrested for public affray, resisting an officer and other related charges.
