Recent cases before the Magistrate Court in Roosevelt County, according to court documents:

Feb. 16:

• Juan Montano, 41, was found guilty of a first offense of DWI and making an improper turn. Montano was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and $580 in fines and fees.

• Jerry Ferguson, 53, pleaded no contest to a second offense of aggravated DWI and driving on a suspended or revoked license. Ferguson was sentenced to eight days in the Roosevelt County Detention Center, two years of supervised probation and $1,082 in fines and fees.

• Jose Ornelas, 40, pleaded guilty to a second offense of aggravated DWI for refusal to take a chemical sobriety test, while a charge of open container was dismissed as per a plea agreement. Ornelas was sentenced to eight days in the Roosevelt County Detention Center, two years of supervised probation and $721 in fines and fees.

• Marcelo Tarango, 27, pleaded guilty to a second offense of DWI, while charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license and improper opening of doors were dismissed as per a plea agreement. Tarango was sentenced to 30 days in the Roosevelt County Detention Center, two years of supervised probation and $721 in fines and fees.

• Brenda Lujan, 31, pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce, while a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed as per a plea agreement. Lujan was sentenced to $148 in fines and fees and to making a $100 contribution to the Batterer’s Intervention Program.

• Jedidiah Singleterry, 32, pleaded guilty to battery on a household member. Singleterry was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and $73 in fines and fees.

• Salvador Orona, 21, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and was found guilty as per a plea agreement. Orona was sentenced to 15 days of unsupervised probation and $223 in fines and fees.

• Gaby Lucero, 32, pleaded no contest to a first offense of possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce and possession drug paraphernalia. Lucero was found guilty as per a plea agreement and sentenced to 182 days of supervised probation and $276 in fines and fees.

• Jesse Aranda, 21, pleaded no contest to two counts of battery against a household member. Aranda was sentenced to two years of supervised probation and $126 in fines and fees.
