About 2 p.m. April 1 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Prince Street for a report of theft of services.

A manager said a customer had come in the day prior for an appointment with a hairdresser. When she went to pay for the services she received, the manager said her credit card was declined so they allowed her to leave her drivers license behind while she went to the ATM machine to withdraw cash to pay her bill.

The manager said the woman never returned so staff called her several times. The woman initially told them she was at the hospital and would return to pay but after several phone calls, cursed out an employee and said she was not going to pay.

The officer made contact with the customer who said she was embarrassed when her card was declined and went to the ATM but discovered she only had $100 in her account and couldn’t pay the hair bill. She said she was going through financial difficulties and didn’t realize the hair salon was going to charge so much.

The officer told the woman he would be obtaining a warrant for theft of services.
