According to the Portales News-Tribune, a few days of sun and clear skies had put a brighter outlook on everything, according to most farmers and produce buyers in the area. The harvest had resumed and was beginning to pick up speed, and there was hope that most all crops except grain and cotton would be harvested within the next week.
