Employee and alumni briefs

• Michael F. Shaughnessy recently interviewed Lord Christopher Monckton, chief policy advisor of the Science and Public Policy Institute in England. He is the chief policy advisor to the Science and Public Policy Institute.

Also, a book by Anita Tedaldi, a nationally syndicated columnist, with sections by Shaughnessy has been accepted for publication by Adams Media. The book is scheduled to be out in April 2010.

• ENMU alumnus Brittany Nielsen was part of a team that won a Northern California Area Emmy Award for reporting on wildfires for KSBW 18.

At Eastern New Mexico University, she anchored News 3 New Mexico under the direction of John Kirby.

• ENMU alumnus Timothy J. Hudson has been hired as the first dean of the new School of Communication at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pa.

KENW auction under way

The KENW auction is under way at http://auction.kenw.org.

Abbout 1,500 items, including some duplicate items, are up for bid. These include a variety of merchandise, gift certificates, vacations and celebrity items.

The annual auction supports KENW-TV, the public television station serving Eastern New Mexico and West Texas.
