Parts store being restructured

Clovis’ Checker Auto Parts is closed this week as it is being restructured into an O’Reilly Auto Parts.

Scheduled to reopen Thursday, the North Prince store will have new inventory and signage by week’s end, according to O’Reilly corporate spokesman Mark Merz.

In July 2008, O’Reilly Auto Parts acquired Phoenix-based CSK Auto, corporate parent of Checker Auto Parts and the largest specialty retailer of parts and accessories in the western U.S.

CSK operates approximately 1,350 retail locations in 22 states.

Merz said the most significant change customers will see in the switch will be an expanded inventory.

Clovis motorcycle business honored

Clovis’ High Plains Harley-Davidson was recently awarded a Silver Bar & Shield Circle of Achievement award by Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

The award is based on sales performance, customer service, satisfaction and various operation measures, according to a press release.

“One of the primary reasons the Harley-Davidson brand has such a tremendous customer loyalty is because of the efforts of dealers such as Jimmy Allison,” said Jeff Merten, Harley-Davidson's Vice President and General Manager of North American Sales.

High Plains Harley-Davidson has been in Clovis since 1986.

Recently High Plains Harley-Davidson also welcomed Wayne Rivers as its general manger.
