April 24 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 10 a.m. April 9 an officer responded to a public building in the 700 block of Main Street for a bomb threat.

Dispatch said a female reported her boyfriend put a bomb in the courthouse.

Officers checked the building but found nothing.

The reporting officer noted the Roosevelt County Courthouse received a similar threat at the same time.

About 8 p.m. April 9 officers served a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Morse Street.

A man came to the home and said he was looking for the resident.

Officers ran a check and discovered seven outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court.

The man was arrested.

About 8 a.m. April 10 an officer responded to a report of criminal damage in the 100 block of Fairway Terrace.

A man said a moving truck drove through his front yard, got stuck and then continued driving.

Showing the officer the damage to his grass, the resident said he attempted to stop the driver but he kept going.

The officer found the driver in the neighborhood and took his information, noting he would have him summonsed to municipal court for damages between $50 and $100.

About 8 p.m. April 10 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Prince Street to assist security with a group of juveniles.

Security said they were going to issue no trespass orders against two youths.

One of them turned his back to the officer and refused to give his name. The officer placed him in custody for concealing his identity.

The other boy told the officer the identity of the 16-year-old. Officers discovered he was wanted on a warrant for battery.

The boy was ordered held until an assessment could be completed to determine if juvenile authorities would continue to hold him.
