Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

April, 12 2009 Artist of the month

Gene Terry

My family moved to House when I was six months old. My dad, Clyde Henry farmed at House and later at Melrose where I grew up. I married Merle Terry in 1948 and we have lived in Clovis most of our married life. We have three daughters, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

I started my art career in 1970. I took are lessons from Virginia Gregory, then Bobby Wied, Jan Loyd and I am currently taking art lessons under Carolyn Lindsey at the Clovis Community College. My medium is mostly oil. I enjoy doing scenery, southwest art and some still life.

It is very relaxing to me and I especially enjoy the friends I have in the art world.
