Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

March 25, 1943

Thirty-two carloads of peanuts were shipped from the warehouse in Portales, according to Taylor McCasland, Bonded Warehouseman for New Mexico and West Texas. Seventeen of the cars were shipped to Columbus, Ga., and 15 were shipped to Stephensville, Texas, for candying and peanut butter purposes. McCasland did not know how much the government received for the peanuts.
