Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 3 a.m. March 1 an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Axtell for a report of prowler.

A woman said there was a male in the yard across from her home.

The 26-year-old refused to identify himself to the officer.

He was charged with criminal trespass and concealing his identity.

About 3 p.m. March 1 an animal control officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Rodeo Drive for a dog bite.

A 5-year-old child reported he was outside bouncing a ball when a schnauzer-type dog ran up behind him and bit him in the calf.

About 6 p.m. March 2 officers served a search warrant for narcotics at an undisclosed residence.

The officers encountered two residents in a bathroom and found marijuana leaves floating in the toilet, which had just been flushed.

A third male suspect was found in a bedroom with two children, one of which was found hiding in a closet.

Officers found marijuana in a trash can, in a chair and in the pocket of one of the suspects. They also found scales, packaging materials and more than $1,500 cash hidden in a dictionary that doubled as a lock box.

The suspects were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence and child abuse because of the accessibility of the drugs in proximity to the two children.

About 8 a.m. March 2 an officer responded to the courthouse at 700 Main Street to serve an arrest warrant.

A detention center employee met with the officer and explained they had been in the process of hiring a 25-year-old man to work at the jail but during a background check, discovered he had four outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court.

The officer arrested the man and transported him to the jail.
