Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 4 p.m. Feb. 24 officers served a search warrant for narcotics at a residence in the 400 block of Dawn Loop.

Officers found a syringe and medicine vial containing clear liquid which field tested positive for methamphetamines.

Outside the home officers located a welder that had been repainted and had the serial numbers scratched off.

A check revealed the welder had been reported stolen from Littlefield, Texas.

A 50-year-old male resident was arrested for possession of drugs and stolen property.

About 9 a.m. Feb. 25 an officer was notified of a fight between two students at a school in the 100 block of Commerce Way.

An administrator said two girls were fighting and even after he arrived on scene, they continued yelling and punching each other and he had to pull them apart.

One girl said the other intentionally bumped into her in the hallway so she pushed her back and they began fighting.

The officer noted intent to obtain warrants for public affray, disorderly conduct and interruption of the educational process for both girls.

About 10 a.m. Feb. 25 an officer responded to a home in the 1700 block of Second Street for a burglary report.

A woman said she came home for lunch and heard a noise in her daughter’s room.

She said she found a man standing in the room holding her daughter’s laptop computer and began screaming at him.

The 45-year-old said she chased the male out the back door and followed him down the alley until she lost him.

The officer noted there was damage to the door where it had been forced open and there were footprints outside.

The woman said more than $1,300 worth of possessions were missing.

About 5 p.m. Feb. 25 an officer was called to the area of 9th and Merriweather Streets for a battery report.

A woman said her son was among a group of four 12-year-old boys wrestling in the playroom of a restaurant on 14th Street and the three other boys battered her child.

She said they knocked him down and began hitting him, then pulled his pants down in front of the other customers.

The officer told the parents of all four boys the matter would be referred to juvenile probation and parole officers.
