Allsup's robbed at gunpoint

Clovis Police are searching for a gunman who robbed an Allsup's store about 12:35 a.m. today.

No one was injured in the robbery at 301 N. Prince, police said.

Cashiers working at the store said the robber walked into the store, pointed a gun at them and said, "This is no joke. Give me the money," according to a police press release.

Police said one of the employees told the robber the drawer had no money. He then told the employee to put her hands on the counter and ordered a second cashier to open her drawer and place the cash on the counter, according to the release.

The robber grabbed the money and fled the store and was last seen runnning north toward Lea Street in an alley behind the store, police said.

Police said they searched the area but weren't able to locate the suspect. He is described as 5-feet-2 inches to 5-feet-4 inches tall, with a skinny build, weighing about 120-150 pounds, wearing a black zippered Adidas jacket with white stripes along both of the sleeves, blue Dickie style pants and white shoes, armed with a black semi-auto type pistol.

Police said they are checking video surveillance at the store,.
