Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 2 a.m. Jan. 17 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of north Walnut Street.

A man said someone knocked on his door and when he asked who it was, all they would say was “me”.

When he opened the door, the man said three males, one of whom kept his hand on a gun tucked in his waistband, pushed their way inside and went into his bedroom and unhooked his television.

He said when he tried to make a phone call, one of the suspects grabbed the phone from him and as they carried the TV out of the residence, he said they grabbed several DVDs.

The man gave police a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were in.

Officers located the vehicle and recovered the stolen items.

The three men were arrested for aggravated burglary, robbery and larceny.

About 4 a.m. Jan. 17 an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Brentwood Drive for a burglary in progress.

When the officer arrived, a woman was holding another woman on the ground.

The woman holding the woman down told the officer the other woman had broken into her home.

The officer handcuffed the woman on the ground. The resident said she and a friend had gone to a bar, then went home and went to bed.

A woman that her friend had argued with at the bar knocked on the door and pushed her way in, scratching and hitting her, so she said she fought with her to defend herself, then held her down until police arrived..

The woman was arrested for trespassing and battery,

Around 10 a.m. on Jan. 17 an officer responded to a business in the 100 block of 14th Street for an embezzlement report.

A store manager told the officer he saw one of his cashiers speaking with two female customers and he was suspicious. When he later saw the cashier ring the customers merchandise up, he again became suspicious and checked the surveillance footage.

The man said he only saw the cashier scan a few of the customer’s items, yet she placed all the groceries into bags.

He said more than $50 worth of merchandise was not paid for.

About 9 p.m. Jan. 17 an officer responded to a fire in the 1200 block of Pile Street.

While firefighters battled a blaze in an unoccupied garage, the officer spoke to neighbors.

One man said a neighborhood child had been heard claiming responsibility for the fire.

The officer, who noted it was the second fire that night, was unable to locate the child.
