Canadian crooner Matt Dusk will brings his “Rat Pack” jazz style to a concert Jan. 31 at the Clovis Civic Center.
The concert kicks off the spring season of Clovis Community College’s Cultural Arts Series sponsored by Clovis Community College and The Citizens Bank of Clovis.
Dusk, named one of Canada’s “Twenty Most Eligible Bachelors,” will perform renditions of songs made famous by such greats as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
Dusk’s 2004 album, “Two Shots,” was partially recorded at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios with a 42-piece string section from the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
His second album, “Back in Town,” features big band tracks mixed and recorded by Al Schmitt, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
Songs from the 2005 Juno Award nominee (for Canadian artists) include “The Way You Look Tonight,” “As Time Goes By”, “Back in Town,” “Who’s Got the Action” and some new material, too.
