Design contest open to youth

New Mexico students are invited to enter the 2009 Santa Fe Opera Youth Poster Design Contest.

The deadline is Feb. 1. Winners receive a cash prize and a family package of six tickets for all Youth Night at the Opera performances.

The winning images are to be used to publicize the three Youth Nights this summer and may appear on merchandise in the Opera Shop. If an artist’s image appears on merchandise, he or she is to receive $100 worth of merchandise with the design.

Posters may feature any medium, and should be at least 8.5 inches by 11 inches and no larger than 11 inches by 17 inches. Artists’ full name, age, school, home address and phone number should be printed on the back of the artwork.
