Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 1 a.m. Oct. 27 an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Reid Street for a battery report.

A woman said her former husband punched her in the face, pushed her down and kicked her.

The woman had injuries on her face and the officers noted the man had blood on the palms of his hands and arrested him.

Around 4 a.m. Oct. 27 an officer on patrol in the area of Northglenn and Chase Meadows Drive stopped when he saw a person crawling under a vehicle.

The officer drew his weapon and ordered the male out from under the vehicle.

The suspect told the officer he was out taking a walk and when he saw the officer’s headlights, he ducked under the vehicle because he did not want to be seen.

The officer found a knife, flashlight and window punch tool in the 25-year-old’s pockets. The man was arrested for possession of burglary tools and trespassing.

About 8 a.m. Oct. 27 an officer responded to a school in the 1400 block of Cameo Street for a report of marijuana.

School officials said a few days before a student was called to the office and handed another student something to hold.

School officials turned over a baggy of marijuana they found.

The officer noted intent to issue the students citations upon their return to school.

Around 5 p.m. Oct. 27 an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1900 block of Prince Street for a shoplifting report.

When the officer, arrived he observed a group of people holding a male teen down. The officer noted the suspect was kicking and yelling, “I don’t want to go to jail”.

An employee said he saw the youth putting two bottles of liquor in his jacket and told him to put them back and leave the store. He said the youth ran for the door but was detained.

The 16-year-old was taken to the juvenile detention center.

About 9 p.m. Oct. 27 officers responded to a hotel in the 600 block of First Street for a suicidal subject.

Officers made contact with a man, who they noted to be intoxicated.

When officers asked if anyone else was in the room, the man said “Jesus” was in the shower, but when an officer said he was going to check the bathroom, the man started to do some “karate moves” and hit him in the arm.

The officer restrained the 43-year-old man, who was arrested for battery on a police officer.
